What we do?
We created this application out of needs which we had with work and to help us with the job. We are not experts in the open source world so we want to share this with everyone so that it can help you when you have need for some backup solution.
How to use?

Install and test
All we need is that we get a line in the webserver logs (Apache, Nginx, whatever you use) which tells us which file was last updated and when. That's it.
One of the nice things is that we took an approach to test everything:
Test if the backup is running
Test if the backup has been restored
Test if the backup can be restored when we are offline
Test if it restores on next startup
So we have tests for just about everything.
What is inside?
Stomp Simple Backup is a self contained backup solution written in PHP.
It uses the Stomp Protocol to store the data in an encrypted zip archive.
The archive is then stored on the webserver which means it can be restored as long as the backup data is available.
If the webserver is offline the backup is temporarily stored in a MySQL database which allows us to also restore data when we are offline.
